It's November, Black Friday is just 23 days away, and the warehouse is officially in Christmas mode!


With holiday deadlines and blackout dates approaching fast, we're popping in to share a few FAQs and reminders to ensure your fulfillment logistics take off on the right foot!


🎅 Holiday Fulfillment FAQS

Q: Will Nice be fulfilling orders throughout the BFCM weekend?

A: Yes! Our team will put the pedal to the metal early Friday morning and work straight through the weekend to help keep on top of the crazy fulfillment volume we're anticipating. 


We're working to coordinate extra weekend pickups to keep things moving smoothly, but at the very least, expect a large number of weekend orders to ship out on Monday, December 2nd.

Q: Should we expect any fulfillment delays to pop up?

A: While we've been proactively streamlining our warehouse and processes and cross-training the warehouse team to be as nimble as possible, the sheer demand from Christmas and holiday sales means some fulfillment delays are unavoidable


Here's how your team can help keep orders from getting clogged:

  • Share your promotion/sales schedule in advance so we can better anticipate demand. 

  • Request any prep or kitting work you need completed for holiday sales by November 15th (next week!)

  • Stay in regular contact with your Account Manager throughout the holidays, especially regarding extended sales or inventory concerns.

Q: Will I be able to make changes to orders after they've been placed?

A: Due to the high order volume, we will prioritize fast fulfillment to get orders out the door and may not be able to accommodate last-minute changes


To help minimize potential disruptions:

  • Encourage your customers to review their order details carefully before submitting. 
  • Let your Account Manager know immediately if any changes are needed. 

Q: Why are some of my orders shipping "out of order"?

A: If products are in stock and an order is ready to ship, we typically follow a first-in, first-out fulfillment approach, giving priority to expedited services.


However, during holiday sale periods, we often set up bulk ship stations to process orders with the same SKUs all-at-once, freeing up other stations to handle more complex, one-off orders. While this system speeds up overall fulfillment, it may result in some orders being fulfilled "out of order."

Q: Will returns be processed as usual during the Q4?

A: In order to prioritize timely holiday fulfillment, we will be blacking out our returns processing services from Friday, November 29 to Friday, December 6th. After this period, returns will be deprioritized until December 19th, with our team focusing on returns when not needed for fulfillment. 


In January, we will boost staffing in our returns department to effectively handle high return volumes.

🚀 NICE Deadlines + Blackouts

Our BFCM deadlines and blackout dates are quickly approaching. Please review and reach out to your Account Manager if you need help coordinating around these items:


  • Promotional/Sales Schedule Due: November 1st
  • SOW Request Deadline: November 15th (next week!)
  • Inbound Freight Blackout: November 29th - December 2nd
  • Outbound Freight Blackout: November 29th - December 6th
  • NEW- Returns Blackout: November 29th-December 6th
  • SOW Blackout: November 27th - December 2nd

🚛 Shipping Surcharges + Deadlines

Along with last week's holiday shipping surcharge update, carriers have released their 2024 shipping deadlines for Christmas delivery. We've outlined these in the graph below and in our knowledgebase. 


Some recommendations to keep in mind:

  • Pad carrier deadlines by a day or two to account for delays. 
  • Cut off your "express" shipping options by Friday, December 20th. 2-day and overnight deliveries are less dependable the closer you get to Christmas.
