Hey Nice Partners,
Over the past few weeks, you've truly blown us away with the incredible Memorial Day sales you all churned out. We witnessed an astounding 60% growth in orders compared to May 2023, with the week leading up to Memorial Day Weekend surpassing Cyber Week 2023 in order volume. With fulfillment caught up and the sales holiday behind us, we thought we'd round up some noticeable and new trends we observed over the past few weeks:
- Black Friday in May: The majority of our partners treated Memorial Day like a second Black Friday with extensive and extended sales. And customers eagerly participated, with order volume cresting last year's BF/CM.
- Site-wide sales: Many partners used this sales holiday for "Spring Cleaning" their inventory, employing site-wide sales. This tactic helps reduce storage costs on slow-moving inventory and allows more room for upcoming fall product launches and Q4 replenishment.
- Early sale start: Instead of reserving sales for Memorial Day Weekend only, almost all our partners started their sales a week early, with some getting a bigger jump start two weeks ahead.
- Extended sales: While most of our partners ended their sale offers on Memorial Day night, a handful extended sales into Tuesday, to great success. With Memorial Day Weekend beginning to follow Black Friday's blueprint, we could see more brands extend their sales past Monday in 2025.
- Sustained volume: We saw sustained volume over the two weeks before and the week after Memorial Day with no huge bell curve over the main weekend. This suggests customers were shopping early and often to take advantage of spring sales.
These trends highlight the incredible effort and adaptability from everyone involved. We're so proud of your team's hard work in creating sales that resonate with customers and our warehouse crew's flexibility in tackling the surge of orders.
Grateful to be your fulfillment partner,
Maddy Moyer, VP of Client Services
